Barat,a pivotal village in Bannu District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, holds significant importance. This stature stems from its connection to the chiefs of the Banuchi tribe, who hails from this area, precisely from the Umarkhel sub-tribe. Notably, Barat is home to the historic site of Akra, also revered as the "Ancient Capital of Bannu".

Subtribes of Umarkhel,Mamakhel,Shadikhel along with many other subtribes of Banuchi (Shitaks) reside there. But historically Umarkhel tribe are the most dominant among these subtribes of Banuchis.
