This stature stems from its connection to the chiefs of the Banuchi tribe, who hails from this area, precisely from the Umarkhel sub-tribe. Notably, Barat is home to the historic site of Akra, also revered as the "Ancient Capital of Bannu".

[edit]Subtribes of Umarkhel,Mamakhel,Shadikhel along with many other subtribes of Banuchi (Shitaks) reside there. But historically Umarkhel tribe are the most dominant among these subtribes of Banuchis.
