2004 Ballon d'Or winner Andriy Shevchenko.

The 2004 Ballon d'Or, given to the best football player in Europe as judged by a panel of sports journalists from UEFA member countries, was awarded to Andriy Shevchenko on 14 December 2004.[1][2]

Shevchenko was the first Ukrainian national to win the award. He was the fifth Milan player to win the trophy after Gianni Rivera (1969), Ruud Gullit (1997), Marco van Basten (1988, 1989, 1992) and George Weah (1995).
