The 2024–25 Kent State Golden Flashes women's basketball team represents Kent State University during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Golden Flashes, led by ninth-year head coach Todd Starkey, play their home games at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center, also known as the MAC Center, in Kent, Ohio as members of the Mid-American Conference.

Previous season

The Golden Flashes finished the 2023–24 season 21–12, 13–5 in MAC play, to finish in third place.[1] They defeated Northern Illinois,[2] Ball State,[3] and Buffalo to win the MAC tournament championship, earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, their first tournament appearance since 2002.[4] They received the #15 seed in the Albany Regional 1,[5] where they would fall to #2 region seed Notre Dame in the first round.[6]

Preseason

On October 22, 2024, the MAC released the preseason coaches poll. Kent State was picked to finish second in the MAC regular season. Kent State received 1 vote to win the MAC Tournament.[7]
