The 2022 Music City Bowl is a college football bowl game that is scheduled to be played on December 31, 2022, at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee . The 24th annual Music City Bowl , the game will feature teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference , the Big Ten Conference , or the Southeastern Conference . The game is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. CST and will air on ABC .[ 1] It will be one of the 2022–23 bowl games concluding the 2022 FBS football season . Sponsored by translation and language services company TransPerfect , the game will be officially known as the TransPerfect Music City Bowl .
Teams
In what will be the second meeting between the two programs (2022 Citrus Bowl ), the game features the Iowa Hawkeyes of the Big Ten Conference (B1G) and the Kentucky Wildcats of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Both teams received and accepted invitations on Sunday, December 4, 2022.[ 2] Ironically, this is the second consecutive meeting between these two teams in a bowl game.
Iowa Hawkeyes
The Hawkeyes will be playing in the Music City Bowl for the first time, and enter the game with a 7–5 record (5–4 B1G).
Kentucky Wildcats
The Wildcats enter the Music City Bowl with a 7–5 record (3–5 SEC). Kentucky will be making its sixth appearance in the Music City Bowl.
