[edit]

How can I create an article about a YouTube gamer? --LilKil12$ (talk) 09:53, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! To create your first article please see this page and follow the directions on there. Also, to ensure that your subjects meet the notability requirements, please check this page - usually, if a subject has recieved significant coverage in multiple sources it is notable. Thanks and happy editing! Best, ~delta (talkcont) 18:18, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Voting for coordinators is now open!

[edit]

Nominations for the upcoming project coordinator election have opened. A team of up to ten coordinators will be elected for the next coordination year. The project coordinators are the designated points of contact for issues concerning the project, and are responsible for maintaining our internal structure and processes. They do not, however, have any authority over article content or editor conduct, or any other special powers. More information on being a coordinator is available here. If you are interested in running, please sign up here by 23:59 UTC on 14 September! Voting will commence on 15 September. If you have any questions, you can contact any member of the current coord team. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:41, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Momonaco (10:32, 15 September 2024)

[edit]

Hello Delta, I would like to learn about editing on Wikipedia but don't really know where to start. It's all so confusing.

What are you top tips for getting started?

Mo --Momonaco (talk) 10:33, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Momonaco! To get started with editing, please feel free to take a look at the policies and guidelines. Especially, these pages for how to write your first article, how to do basic copyediting, how to revert vandalism etc are great places to look at how you can contribute to Wikipedia. Feel free to look around the task center for stuff to do around here and if you have any additional questions feel free to ask here on my talkpage or the Teahouse, a friendly forum for new Wikipedians to ask questions. Best, ~delta (talkcont) 16:35, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thank you for your prompt reply. Think I will look at the basic copyediting page first. Mo Momonaco (talk) 20:00, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from KenCenArchCoordHM (13:49, 24 September 2024)

[edit]

Hi! How do I edit a parameter in an info box? In the info box for an award, it would be more accurate for the "holder" parameter to be "Most recent recipient" rather than "Currently held by" so it doesn't imply the award is passed from recipient to recipient. Is this possible? --KenCenArchCoordHM (talk) 13:49, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! You may be thinking about Template:Infobox award, if I am right? I'm assuming you want to fix this on Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, you can add the holder_label parameter and set that to "most recent recipient" in order to do this. Feel free to see this page for further info if you wish. If you have any other questions about editing feel free to ask me anytime! Best, ~delta (talkcont) 21:42, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, that was helpful! KenCenArchCoordHM (talk) 14:37, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from ITHexFF (16:01, 29 September 2024)

[edit]

Hi Delta. I wanted to expand a little more a page about a Person. The english wikipedia page about this Person has more information that the Italian version. Since I am fluent in Italian, I was wondering if it is 'allowed' as an edit, to edit the Italian version, to add information that are included in the page of English version (Here are the 2 pages: [Italian Page] http://it.wiki.x.io/wiki/Fravia [English Page] http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Fravia). Hoping to hear back from you soon :) --ITHexFF (talk) 16:01, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
