Hello, I'm Mr.weedle. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Qaba, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Mr.weedle (talk) 04:20, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello mr.weedle, I did add a source, Yedida Stillman's book Arab Dress. I cited two different sections of it. I try to add my contributions in one go,but this time I added it more piecemeal and saved my edits while switching between tabs to ensure I didn't loose my work, which is why you may have missed it. I don't know why you changed my gallery additions, however. Two of those, if you are curious, are images she also uses discussing Qaba. Was there a problem with citing her? Sartorialegypt (talk) 05:13, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Further, I see no reason to delete the "see also" contributions as others on the page already made a connection between the qaba and the jama in the article gallery and text. Sartorialegypt (talk) 05:17, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Zār, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Abyssinian. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 05:50, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page List of Jewish Temples, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A "bare URL and missing title" error. References show this error when they do not have a title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 17:29, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I see you've contributed a lot to Hausa animism, would you be interested in a taskforce on oral tradition? Kowal2701 (talk) 16:51, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but I may not be able to dedicate much time to it, and I primarily research adorcism when I have time as of the moment. Sartorialegypt (talk) 17:01, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's okay, your time is valuable, only contribute as much as you want. Most members stick to a specific area of interest, we have a pretty wide but thin coverage. Do you encounter oral tradition much in your research? Personally I find African religions really interesting but WP has quite shallow coverage at the moment, the page African traditional religions could be expanded or partly rewritten Kowal2701 (talk) 17:10, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A lot of my research is made up of books and papers written by people who have interviewed and interacted with people who practice an adorcist rite. When I'm lucky I come across a practitioner speaking in their ownt words. Most of it is oral tradition getting written down for the first time. The ATR page mostly focuses on a very specific branch of West African religions I believe, so its a little outside the region I usually focus on (North and East Africa; my bori research was mostly done because bori has been very influential on zar and I wanted to understand the individual rite better) but I'll definitely go through it in the future and try to fix anything egregious. I actually got sent down this rabbithole because I noticed the page on zār was full of misinformation, nonsense sentences, and improperly cited sources. Sartorialegypt (talk) 11:03, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
yeah the ATR page needs some love. Of Africa's regions, Central Africa probably gets the poorest coverage on wikipedia. That sounds like it definitely would be within the scope of the project, but scope is still being discussed on the project's talk page, it seems to be a broad scope though Kowal2701 (talk) 12:28, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, in general I find English Wikipedia's coverage a bit... lacking. I have a book on ngoma ritual in my to read pile that could be useful; to my understanding that rite is found in both East and Central Africa. I'll try to bump it higher on my list.
