Speedy deletion of Image:Ecser cimere.jpg

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:Ecser cimere.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I8 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name, or all references to the image on Wikipedia have been updated to point to the title used at Commons.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Ecser cimere.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. NanohaA'sYuriTalk, My master 22:52, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nice story you wrote about that lonely man, example for the Saamis. I could find myself quit well in it because the West-Flemish language is also threaneded heavily by the Dutch language. Even most West-Flemish don't even support the West-Flemish wikipedia.. We only have like 40 active wikipedia users while they are about 1.5 million people who speak West-Flemish. I was going to transelate it, but somebody else was earlier. --David-bel (talk) 16:45, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, Sorry, I don't know anyone whose written Māori is good enough to write a Wikipedia article (well, I do, but they are computer-illiterate and would never get around to it!). I met Marton Csokas in 1987 when we were both at University - he was acting in a play by Sam Shepard, and I was the production manager. I might do some more copyediting on the article. dramatic (talk) 09:12, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

New Zealand Television

[edit]

Hi, I'm probably the wrong person to ask about New Zealand TV, since I watch less than an hour a week these days. Shortland street is the only ongoing drama series made in NZ - what other drama there is is usually short seasons. http://www.nzonscreen.com/watch/television gives a historical overview. The list of genres on the left is probably a pretty accurate overview of NZ TV production - 50% documentaries.

There is also www.tvnz.co.nz/video, but I'm not sure if that is viewable outside New Zealand. dramatic (talk) 06:47, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Outrageous Fortune is considered one of the better local drama series. You should be able to watch excerpts at NZ on Screen-gadfium 19:21, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article George Miok has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unfortunately this individual does not meet the general notability guideline and is known for only one event; Wikipedia is not a memorial

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Thanks for adding onto the article Yatton, Ontario. And you other question regarding George Miok, I am on the fence with it there are a fair amount of references for the article but there is a problem with WP:BLP1E. You can contest the PROD and it will most likely be taken to an WP:AFD. If you do contest the PROD you remove it from the page and leave an edit summary about why you contested it. George Miok

[edit]

Hi, I'm on the fence about this article as well. Here in Ontario, where Mr. Miok was repatriated, he received coverage until the honour guard brought his remains to the police morgue, in Toronto. He might be getting more coverage in his home town, but I don't think it is lingering the way some suggest. I do not automatically think this article should be deleted, but I will need some more convincing before I can support keeping the article.--Abebenjoe (talk) 01:40, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'll give it a look tomorrow, I have other projects that need attention, but I will also search the Ontario/Canadian/International media to see if he keeps emerging as a story. My suggestion is to post links on the talk page to the Hungarian media, and unilingual English speakers, like myself, can use Google translate to get the basic idea that is being conveyed. If he is, as you say, in the Hungarian media, then I'm inclined to keep the article, at least for notability issues. Have not really looked the article's prose, nor its citations. Take care it must be 0300 where you live.--Abebenjoe (talk) 01:52, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've seen the video, although it seems to be a Canadian-Hungarian production, but I'll support keeping it. I have witnessed other news media relating to him, though his is a low importance general biography. In future, the Miok article might get merged into a larger article that deals with the incident that killed him, or Canada's participation in the Afghanistan war.--Abebenjoe (talk) 22:28, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated George Miok, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/George Miok. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Fair use rationale for File:Darvas_Ivan-A_tizedes_meg_a_tobbiek.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Darvas_Ivan-A_tizedes_meg_a_tobbiek.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Melesse (talk) 10:31, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Huntington

[edit]

The picture came from this book.

You can use the following citation:<ref name=bench>Colmer, Montagu, and Charles Erskine Scott Wood. 1910. [http://books.google.com/books?id=sykwAAAAYAAJ&ots=EHmiPYwrBw&dq=bench%20and%20bar%20of%20oregon&pg=PA158&ci=635%2C500%2C242%2C26&source=bookclip ''History of the Bench and Bar of Oregon''.] Portland, Or: Historical Pub. Co. p. 158.</ref>

Also, instead of using the Rootsweb source, you are better using the original. As to more info, the Bench and Bar article may contain more info, but likely not much more. The different sources on this page may also have some more, as well as Google News' archives or a search of Google Books. Note in the Republican League source he is listed as B. S. Huntington, so you may need to play with the search terms. Then if you want to do more looking, your local library may have some online databases for genealogy research you could access, with HeritageQuest a common one. Replaceable fair use File:Darvas Ivan-A tizedes meg a tobbiek.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Darvas Ivan-A tizedes meg a tobbiek.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. FASTILYsock(TALK) 03:49, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kérés

[edit]

Doncsecztalk 18:31, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Doncsecztalk 18:44, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Amúgy nem sürgős, ráér. Doncsecztalk 19:07, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

(a gólya csőre legyen piros). Doncsecztalk 12:18, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Arpadhon.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Arpadhon.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. multichill (talk) 13:23, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hungarian help

[edit]

Hey Eino81

I'm a contributer to wikipedia who has recently been working on the article Gloomy Sunday by Rezso Seress on the english wikipedia. Due to the large amount of false rumors that exist over this song in the English seeking world, I've recently been looking into finding some sources or references from the original Hungarian that might be more accurate to the songs backstory. As I can not read Hungarian, I have been as of late inquiring to some of the wikipedians in Hungary if they could perhaps offer any assistence or links to helpful sites that will assist in the articles backstory. If you could review the information in the article or offer any information or helpful references, then myself and all other wikipedians would be grateful to you for your effort. Sincerely: Trollyboy (talk) 02:22, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Lance Kinsey, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Police Academy (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Václav Marek (writer), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Sami, Ahoj and Lapland (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 05:57, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
