Usage
[edit]{{supra}} and {{short form}}, and their wrappers {{supra footnote}}[1] and {{short form footnote}}[2] are meant to be used in concert with {{bluebook journal}} and {{bluebook website}}, although they may work with reference styles as well.
- {{supra}} and {{supra footnote}} are used for content other than case citations.
- The first parameter (unnamed or
|1=
) should contain the name of an existing citation on the page. - If the citation in question does not have any "hereinafter..." listed, simply copy the exact string of authors given, e.g. Dewey or Cheatham & Howe.
- If there is a "hereinafter...", copy that. Italicize if applicable.

- {{short form}} and {{ShortFormFn}} are used for case citatons.
- The first parameter (unnamed or

All four templates will ignore any discrepancies as to spacing, commas, or ampersands, although not a spelled-out "and". An |at=
parameter allows specifying a pinpoint.
A custom |ref=
parameter allows overriding the above logic, creating a link to any ID on the page. Its value should usually use {{BluebookRef}} or {{SfnRef}}
Like their analogous template {{harvnb}}, {{supra}} does not include terminal punctuation. As a shorthand for the markup <ref>{{supra|...}}.</ref>
, one can use {{Supra footnote|...}}
;[1] likewise {{Short form footnote}}
[2] to wrap {{short form}} in the same way. These are analogous to {{sfn}}.
