Musical career
[edit]KTEE was born on March 23, 1987, in Steyr, Upper Austria, and grew up in Maria Neustift. In 2007, she participated in the competition The Voice in Shopping City Süd, Vienna, using her real name, Katharina Aigner, and achieved the 2nd place.[1] Her passion for music then led her to Vienna, where she has been living since 2007, working on her music career.
In 2010, she participated in the Austrian casting show Helden von morgen still using her real name and reached the 8th place.[2] Since 2015, she has been collaborating with her producer, Bern Wagner[3], and released her first song in 2016 under her artist name KTEE. Many more songs followed.
Her songs Rollercoaster and Melody made it to the semifinals of the American International Songwriting Contest (ISC)[4]. In 2018, KTEE's song So What was among the top 3 in the internal selection round for the Austrian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest, and in 2023, her yet unreleased song Way for a woman was in the shortlist. Many of her songs have been played on radios in Austria (including Hitradio Ö3), Germany, the USA, and England. Her songs Push and Pull, Back in Time, and Save your Heart First were featured on BBC Sussex and BBC Surrey.[5]
In 2021, she collaborated with artists PAENDA and Vida Noa, resulting in the creation of the song Boys 4 Breakfast[6], which was part of the soundtrack for the film Love Machine 2 by Andreas Schmied, starring Thomas Stipsits.
In 2022, KTEE was the opening act for the German singer Nico Santos at the open-air arena in Graz.[7]
In 2023, she won the Rock the Island contest and earned a performance on the main stage at the famous Vienna Donauinselfest.[8]
