End dates for Nikon 1 cameras

[edit]

The end dates for the Nikon 1 cameras may need to be reworked. The only source I could find quickly was dated July of 2018, so I stopped their timelines in that period. It's possible that some models were discontinued earlier however. —Locke Coletc 21:06, 23 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Split into Nikon 1 and Z timelines?

[edit]

They're completely different systems it seems kinda weird to me that these are stuffed into one timeline. This also results in a bunch of feature flags (e.g. for video) that are kinda unnecessary and clog up the visuals (how would we add 8K video? Triple underline?). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Phiarc (talkcontribs) 17:24, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, I've disliked including the Nikon 1 basically since this change first happened. If we had a separate Template:Nikon 1 cameras (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) template we could just add a link from a footnote within this template perhaps? That would provide more options for 8K/etc as you noted. —Locke Coletc 17:53, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
We already have a currently unused template for the Z cameras at Template:Nikon Z cameras, so we could update that one for the current cameras, then remove the Z cameras from this and rename it to Nikon 1 cameras? Dunno if that's up to Wikipedia Bureaucrat Code though. -- Phiarc (talk) 14:27, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
All done now. Let's see if it sticks. -- Phiarc (talk) 13:02, 6 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
