Plural form
[edit]Shouldn't this be "Ulches"? That would be the usual way to pluralize "Ulch" in English. 75.135.82.119 06:05, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
- My Ainu: Spirit of a Northern People by Fitzhugh, William , Durbreuil (1999) book labels them as Ulchi. We have the same problem with the Oroks and Nivkhs (o'c my book calls them Nivkhi). They should probably be Nivkh people, so perhaps Ulch people would be better like the Ainu people and many other ethno articles. -Kain Nihil 07:47, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
- Also my Siberia: Worlds Apart by Mote, Victor L. (1998) calls them Ul'chi. -Kain Nihil 08:03, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'd say Ulchi and Nivkhi are simply romanizations of corresponding Russian terms "ульчи" and "нивхи", which are plural of "ульч" (ulch) and "нивх" (nivkh). Renaming the articles to "Ulch people" and "Nivkh people" should take care of the problem of pluralizing the terms in English and is a reasonable proposal.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 17:00, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned references in Ulch people
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Ulch people's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 14:49, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
