The Best Is Yet to Come (song) → ? – There is more than one song with the same name. There are versions of Frank Sinatra and of Tony Bennett. Therefore, names of composer Cy Coleman and of lyricist Carolyn Leigh shall disambiguate this song, but would it be "Coleman and Leigh song", "Cy Coleman and Carolyn Leigh song", or how do you disambiguate this song? Would it be left the way it is, like Psycho (film)? Relisted. —Darkwind (talk) 14:54, 14 January 2013 (UTC) --George Ho (talk) 04:46, 18 December 2012 (UTC)
- Anything wrong with The Best Is Yet to Come (Frank Sinatra song)? He sang it first, and that should make for a more recognizable title than with the names of the composer and lyricist, which seem more esoteric. --BDD (talk) 21:37, 27 December 2012 (UTC)
- Nothing wrong; Tony Bennett first recorded it. --George Ho (talk) 23:47, 28 December 2012 (UTC)

Requested move (2013)
[edit]- The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: page moved to The Best Is Yet to Come (as primary topic), with dab page moved to The Best Is Yet to Come (disambiguation) per consensus. Miniapolis 16:09, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
The Best Is Yet to Come (song) → The Best Is Yet to Come (Coleman song) – You know what? Even if the songwriter's name is unknown, there are too many well-known singers singing this song. Therefore, without the most prominent singer, I'm afraid that we should stick with "Coleman" instead. If neither MOS:ALBUM nor WP:BANDNAME can help, I guess we can stick with suggestion. Otherwise, let's go for either "1959" or "1964". George Ho (talk) 05:31, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
- Support, but The Best Is Yet to Come (Cy Coleman song) per The Best Is Yet to Come: The Songs of Cy Coleman album article. In ictu oculi (talk) 11:57, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose I don't understand this move at all. Many jazz standards have memorable versions by several different performers. Your earlier move indicated that you might not understand that Sinatra/Bennett/Fitzgerald et al are all singing the same song. Do see any other Great American Songbook article for similar examples. Gareth E Kegg (talk) 12:03, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
- I wasn't sure back then whether a prominent singer matters enough to call this song a "Frank Sinatra song" or "Tony Bennett song". Now I realize that searching for the most prominent singer is not as effective as using a songwriter's name. --George Ho (talk) 13:19, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
- The article already exists, here. People searching for the song can easily find it, so it does not require further disambiguation. Gareth E Kegg (talk) 13:31, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

- Hi Gareth, I think the issue is not that people can't find the Sinatra Bennett or Presley covers of the Cy Coleman song, it's that they can't easily find the other songs which aren't the Cy Coleman song. In ictu oculi (talk) 14:20, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
- "The Best Is Yet to Come" (song), a song by Cy Coleman and Carolyn Leigh
- "The Best Is Yet to Come" (Clifford T. Ward song), a song by Clifford T. Ward
- "The Best Is Yet To Come" (Grover Washington Jr. song), a smooth jazz/R&B song by Grover Washington Jr. featuring Patti LaBelle
- "The Best Is Yet to Come", a song by Welsh rock band Kids In Glass Houses from their 2010 album Dirt
- "The Best Is Yet to Come", a song by German heavy metal band Scorpions from their 2010 album Sting in the Tail
- "The Best Is Yet to Come", a song written by Rika Muranaka and performed by Aoife Ní Fhearraigh, that appears in the video game Metal Gear Solid
- "The Best Is Yet to Come", a song performed by Samantha Fox and written by Andy McCoy
- Of those seven songs, four don't have articles, and the two that do, by Ward and Washington, are easily beaten by Leigh and Coleman's on pageviews and Google hits. There hasn't been any discussion on this page about confusion between those songs and this. The discussion was instigated in confusion for Sinatra/Bennett versions et al to be separte articles, the 2012 discussion confirms that. Gareth E Kegg (talk) 15:57, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
- Well, we're discussing it now. I don't see the relevance of noting that these songs re easily beaten by Leigh and Coleman's on pageviews. They are probably easily beaten by Leigh and Coleman's in Google Books too. But to be WP:PRIMARYTOPIC and move to The Best Is Yet to Come the Cy Coleman song would have to beat everything on the dab page taken together including The Best Is Yet to Come (film) and The Best Is Yet to Come (album), that's quite a challenge. If not then "(song)" fails WP:AT/WP:PRECISE and WP:DAB. We have no WP:PRIMARYSONG guideline. In ictu oculi (talk) 16:16, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

- Move to The Best is Yet to Come. This is easily the primary topic of that title:
- The Best Is Yet to Come (song): 9868 hits in 90 days, much more than all the others combined:
- The Best Is Yet to Come (album): 1218
- The Best Is Yet to Come (Clifford T. Ward song): 230
- The Best Is Yet To Come (Grover Washington Jr. song): 544
- The Best Is Yet to Come (film): 334
- The Best Is Yet to Come (Donald Lawrence song): No counted hits yet, and as the song is pretty obscure it's hard to imagine it will see much traffic growth
- None of the other entries on the dab page have their own articles. The dab page itself got 784 pageviews in the last 90 days, more than all but two of the existing articles.
- Additionally, "The Best is Yet to Come" "Cy Coleman" gets 6320 Google Books hits, compared to 1630 for "The Best is Yet to Come" "Ella Fitzgerald", 350 for "The Best is Yet to Come" "Grover Washington" and negligible hits for any of the others.
- The Coleman song should go to The Best Is Yet to Come, with the dab page moved to The Best is Yet to Come (disambiguation).--Cúchullain t/c 16:43, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
- Support a move to The Best Is Yet to Come per Cuchullain. --BDD (talk) 22:09, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose move to The Best Is Yet to Come (Coleman song); Support a move to The Best Is Yet to Come per Cuchullain. Compelling evidence that this is the primary topic. --B2C 02:10, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
