nonstandard use of airline name

[edit]

This article and several others should be entitled "Northwest Airlines Flight nnn." Even when the company used the Northwest Orient branding on its aircraft and advertising, it was never referred to as anything other than "Northwest Airlines" in an official sense. As the company never changed its name to Northwest Orient (or back to "Northwest Airlines") articles referencing historic events should simply say "Northwest Airlines." Actually the company did switch between "Northwest" and "Northwest Orient" and variations thereof several times in the course of its existence. The name of a given accident/incident article reflects the current name and usage at the time. When the Flight 706 incident occurred, the airline was called "Northwest Orient Airlines," hence the article title. --Mûĸĸâĸûĸâĸû (blah?) 11:43, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
