Manuel Jiménes → Manuel Jimenes – In Spanish Jiménez does have an accent, but Jimenes does not. In this article Jimenes is consistently written without an accent, whereas common Spanish surnames such as Domínguez, Hernández and so on are written with an accent. - Support - the article you link is about his descendant high court judge José Antonio Jimenes Domínguez, but support. Thanks Red Slash for below, see Stress in Spanish. In ictu oculi (talk) 15:19, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- Support, it's an embarrassing typo. The stress indeed falls on the second syllable, but as a word ending in "s" that is exactly where you would anticipate the stress to fall, so no accent is needed and it is a silly (but not unheard of) mistake to place one there.
