Superman 2025 and the DCU

[edit]

So usually, the rule for a film series to be considered a franchise (and added to the highest grossing superhero film franchises and series section of this article) they must have at least two films released. In the case of the DCU, if Superman can somehow make more than $1,361,130,530 (which is how much the lowest grossing franchise on the list, TMNT, made), should it be included on the list since even though there would only be one film in the franchise at that point, there will already be another project in the DCU, Creature Commandos. The reason I ask this is because a film franchise article needs at least three projects released before it can be published, but we made an exception for the DCU and already made a DCU article. Does that apply here? Jstewart2007 (talk) 22:56, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

SSU

[edit]

well Spider Man does not appear in it and despite many of their movies beings bombs, they would still be 15th. Guardians of the Galaxy also has its own place despite being part of the MCU Braganza (talk) 22:26, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Same applies for Aquaman and the DCEU

I was thinking something like that Braganza (talk) 10:27, 29 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's because while it's possible to have an Aquaman film that's not an MCU film or a Guardians of the Galaxy film that's not an MCU film, an SSU, by definition, is automatically a film in the Spider-Man franchise, so you can't make an SSU film that's not a Spider-Man film. See Talk:List of highest-grossing superhero films/Archive 1#Sony's Spider-Man Universe for more discussion. 98.228.137.44 (talk) 00:25, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
that is speculative so far Braganza (talk) 09:29, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For what it's worth, the issue was discussed at Talk:List of highest-grossing films/Archive 19#Inclusion of Venom and Morbius in Spider-Man total gross as well. 98.228.137.44 (talk) 21:23, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
i am not arguing to exclude them from Spider Man Braganza (talk) 19:03, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
