I don't really understand what is at issue here. The John Gallagher (basketball coach) article provides references that show Gallagher to be a head men's basketball coach in the America East Conference. There are articles for each of the other eight coaches in the league, so Coach Gallagher would appear to qualify as a notable person by Wikipedia's standards. This is the first article I have posted, and I took pains to be as straightforward and factual as possible. If there are biased or incorrect statements in the article, I would ask for some advice rather than a tag requesting "speedy deletion," since the subject of the article would appear to meet the standards for a Wikipedia page and the content, at least as far as I can tell, is acceptable. Thanks very much! Hartfordathletics (talk) 17:52, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I based my nomination on the lack of coverage and the lack of independent recognition (national award, hall of fame, national media recognition) per WP:ATH. But if you feel an article can be built based on the guidelines, I'd certainly not object to the article being kept for the time being while you build it up on the basis of those criteria.
