Geography: Latitude range has an error

[edit]

The third paragraph in the Geography section gives 50 degrees and some minutes as one of the latitude boundaries and 70 degrees (and some minutes) as the other. It can't be about 20 degrees wide! Regards, Nikevich (66.92.74.189 (talk) 02:35, 3 October 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Can someone familiar with Pakistani geography rewrite this section (Geography)? It is repetitive and, as the poster above pointed out, the boundaries stated in the 3rd graph seem more like those of the entire Himalayas. I'm willing to do it, but would rather leave it to someone better versed on the subject, if possible. —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 00:33, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

People and Culture -- Edits

[edit]

Pashto is spoken in south western Kohistan. There are no native Hindko Speakers in Kohistan. Tigerkhan007 (talk) 15:38, 12 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I copy-edited this (but not totally; there's an awkward phrase left over).

Please note the last statement about religions; it was difficult to understand as originally written. Please check it for accuracy, and for conflict with what was probably written by a different author.

"History provides evidence that civilization in Kohistan matured quite early as compared to adjacent areas were people were worshipping fire (i.e. Zoroastrian), plants and other objects. Islam is the most recent religion dating back only 350 years."

POV is not neutral. Dissing the Zoroastrians, betraying a prejudice in favor of "matured" religions as opposed to animist or polytheistic religions.

Article title

[edit]

Kohistan District has been divided into Lower and Upper Kohistan Districts for over a decade now. The usefulness of this page is essentially based on its correspondence to Indus Kohistan as a geographic region, not as an administrative unit, which no longer exists. Hence it seems appropriate to move this page to Indus Kohistan with necessary changes to reflect the article change. Sutyarashi (talk) 18:03, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved the article to the new title. If any editor disagrees with this page move, they can move it back, and I would start a proper discussion for it. Sutyarashi (talk) 18:07, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
