Code examples? Difference from FORTRAN?

[edit]

Now this article does not contain any example of code written in this language. Looks like this article was created as a proof that "women can be programmers", but without code examples it looks like they can not.

Also, we can say nothing about FORMAC/FORTRAN difference. Is it possible that FORMAC was just an implementation of FORTRAN with another name given just for commercial reason? P.Y.Python (talk) 14:52, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A couple of examples of the code can easily be found by anyone who bothers to read the references. As for differences from FORTRAN, FORMAC was originally designed as an extension to FORTRAN IV in exactly the same way that C++ was originally designed as an extension to C. So you could write a 'FORMAC' program which would be accepted by a FORTRAN compiler in exactly the same way that you could write a 'C++' program that would be accepted by a C compiler. However that doesn't mean that FORMAC is FORTRAN any more than it means that C++ is C. -- Derek Ross | Talk 14:58, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
