– Consistency with the subcategories and the other articles in Category:Chemical compounds by element, such as Argon compounds and its parallel Category:Argon compounds. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 05:05, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
- Support all. I'm all for consistency, and the old format will still get searchers to the right place via redirects. Mdewman6 (talk) 16:42, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
- Support. Starting the article titles with the element rather that "compounds" is better for searches. Rreagan007 (talk) 23:21, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
- Support all per the above two. Double sharp (talk) 06:41, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- Support all Same reason as the above. Keresluna (talk) 16:56, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Start with a plan
[edit]- This article seems to be a well-intentioned but pile of random stuff and factoids. I mean: read the first paragraph. Readers expect to see organized plan for COMPOUNDS, not alloys, not reactions, not electron configuration, not Al metal. Why not start with a plan, then fill it in. Greenwood and Earshaw is a good starting point, perhaps. Another possible plan is below, but we need to start with a plan.
Oxidation state (III)
- halides
- binaries
- ate compounds
- binary chalcogenides
- binaries
- ate compounds
- organic derivatives (see organoAl)
- metal organic complexes
