Hi. I extended this article, on the basis of information on the German wikipedia, but incorporating what was here before. Although I personally prefer BC/AD dates, I left it at BCE, as that was used when this page was started. athinaios (talk) 07:44, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I removed recent edits regarding the ethnicity of the painter. As the article clearly states, Brygos Painter is his conventional name, as he painted vases by the potter Brygos. His real name is unknown, so no conclusions on his origins can be drawn. There is a new page on the potter Brygos, where such information could be added. The reference to inscriptions should not be added, though: although there are indeed some 5th century Attic inscriptions mentioning the name Brygos, none of them, to my knowledge, mention his profession as a potter, so that there is no reason to assume they refer to the same individual. athinaios (talk) 18:17, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
