jalapenos - here is the story for that broken link. [[1]]. i'm not great at adding refs, so i'll let you handle it. also, i left some suggestions on the intl talk page. thanks. untwirl(talk) 20:40, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Title

[edit]

Squicks, though the conflict began in late 2008, no significant part of the aid was given in 2008. I think the previous title was better. Jalapenos do exist (talk) 21:44, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Some of the aid was given earlier. Note that, for example, the EU has contributed a lot over 2008. The Squicks (talk) 21:48, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Look at this Reuters story in December 2008. There was notable aid at that time. The Squicks (talk) 21:50, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Of course, there has always been massive aid to the Gaza Strip. But this article is about the aid related to the 2008-2009 conflict. Jalapenos do exist (talk) 21:55, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

also, re: the title it should be "humanitarian aid," as that is how it is referred to in both of the previous articles. untwirl(talk) 21:50, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The scope has since widened, both by nature of splitting off the article, and because of the changing realities on the ground. $5 billion in cash goes well beyond humanitarian aid, into the realm of reconstruction and strengthening the PNA, etc., and that is how the reliable sources see it too. Jalapenos do exist (talk) 21:58, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

after searching news reports, i have noticed that "gaza aid" is referred to in many sources. that seems fine. however, a summary of this page needs to be in the intl reactions page and this new page needs to be linked from there and the main article. the main article still links to the original intl reactions humanitarian section. untwirl(talk) 15:43, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
