Dark mode support

[edit]

Implement changes in Module:Tree chart/sandbox and Module:Tree chart/data/sandbox, which remove the explicitly-defined black color to provide support for dark mode. Snowmanonahoe (talk · contribs · typos) 13:39, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Colored and Thicker Tiles?

[edit]

Just out of curiosity, but is there a way to implement colors for the lines that connect the boxes? Additionally, is there also a way to increase the thickness of the lines so that the color is more obvious? I want to use colors in addition to the dotted and dashed lines to further designate more relations and make said lines more visible in the page. Thanks in advance. Not at the moment; I think it would be difficult to ensure this was accessible e.g. for people using screen readers, etc. If you're using colours for the cells make sure to read MOS:COLOUR too. --YodinT 13:03, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ahhh, I see. Gotcha, thanks a lot! Lafuente Philosophy (talk) 05:16, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Assistance required

[edit]

Hello! I've just created this template (and sub templates) on the Welsh Wikipedia but it doesn't show (see cy:Dôn#Llys_Dôn which should have a family tree in it like the English en:Dôn#The_House_of_Dôn). I've copied and pasted exactly the English over so that we don't need to fuss around with translating, but I'm at a loss as to why it's not working :( Here they are:

cy:Nodyn:Tree chart, cy:Nodyn:Tree chart/start, cy:Nodyn:Tree chart/end

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much, Xxglennxx (talk) 15:39, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not to worry! Apparently someone had already made it without linking it to the en wiki! Xxglennxx (talk) 16:37, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please review my chart

[edit]

My first ever attempt at using this is at Margaret Sibella Brown#Family and early life. I'd appreciate any feedback about what could be improved. RoySmith (talk) 13:37, 23 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@RoySmith: Looks good to me 👍 The only thing I would change is the connecting line above Lillian, which isn't centred – could change the penultimate tree chart line from:
  • {{tree chart| |,|-|-|-|+|-|-|-|v|-|-|-|v|-|-|.}} to:
  • {{tree chart| |,|-|-|-|+|-|-|-|v|-|-|-|v|-|-|-|.}}
You could also remove one dash above York Ainsley Walker Barrington, but this might look unbalanced as it wouldn't be level with the line below, going from her to Sibella Annie Barrington. --YodinT 10:24, 1 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

why doesn't Peter's color change? Braganza (talk) 18:06, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It seems to be treating the space before "PE" as part of the box's name. You can fix this either by:
  • changing | PE | to |PE |
  • or changing boxstyle_PE=color:#260DF6; to boxstyle_ PE=color:#260DF6;
If you're changing the colours, make sure to read MOS:COLOUR too! --YodinT 21:15, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
