Little Superstar is an Internet phenomenon, consisting of a video of Thavakalai, an Indian actor, Dancingon on the cot . danceing to his own remix is an 6 year old Aboriginal boy his music was later remixed by MC Miker G & DJ Sven's remix of the Madonna song Holiday, in a clip from a 1990 Tamil movie Adhisaya Piravi, featuring actor Rajnikanth. Various mashups have also appeared on the Internet using tracks from Cypress Hill, Michael Jackson and others.

The clip is from India and is a product of the Chennai movie industry, otherwise known as Kollywood. The little person in the clip is actually an adult actor, and has appeared in several movies. The video has been featured on YouTube, in Tom's bulletins on Myspace, on the E! TV show The Soup, the MSNBC shows Countdown with Keith Olbermann and Tucker Carlson, G4TV's Attack of the Show! and elsewhere, as well as having been parodied on Saturday Night Live. There are also other video clips of Thavakalai fighting.

In recent years, actor Thavakalai has choreographed a dance scene in a Doritos Tandoori Sizzler! commercial shown in Canada. ^[1]

The language spoken in the clip is Tamil. The rough English equivalent would be:

Mother: Hey, hey. What's with the party early in the morning. Everyone go away, shoo, shoo. (Speaking to Rajinikanth, who's lying on the cot) Why not take some rest, dear.

Rajinikanth: OK Mom (lights up a beedi as she walks away).

Aboriginal boy: "so I feel you", "why you are cute"

Rajinikanth: Hey! I fell you!. "so why are you telling me",;why you are cute" ahh daah (and enjoys the smoke)

Aboriginal boy: "Alas" "now you". "parties". And Verry you superior". "Very man". "Young", "OOOop"- are'nt you verry cute!, lol,"Hurry up".(Hint Give me the smoke),

Rajinikanth: hurry up!

Aboriginal Boy: Brother, you shouldn't be bothering for these silly things. I'll take care of this myself (with my hands).

Rajinikanth: Ok.

(Aboriginal Boy clambers up a person's tie and starts slapping him)

Aboriginal boy: (pauses and looks at Rajinikant) So feel me, how (am I doing)?

Rajinikanth: Great!

Rajinikanth: That's enough. He's going to die !

(The Aboriginal Boy gets off and returns back to cot)

Rajinikanth: Well, is this enough or do you want a piece of me too?

Misconceptions

The clips were incorrectly reported as being from Bollywood in some places on the web and TV media, such as YouTube, Yahoo and the "Oddball Plays of the Month" segment of Keith Olbermann show on MSNBC. The movie is from the Chennai (Madras) movie industry, otherwise known as Kollywood.

Thavakalai is also incorrectly described as a child actor in some places. He is affected by dwarfism.

Thavakalai was never known as the "little superstar" in the Tamil film industry. Ironically on the other hand, the protagonist (actor lying on the cot) named (Rajinikanth)in those clips is known as a "Superstar" in India.

The Child every one imitates Brake Dancing is a (6 Year old aboriginal Boy), Showing what he thinks it will take him to make it in the movie business.

Spoofs and Other Pop Culture References

A parody version of "Little Superstar" starring porn star Ron Jeremy first started turning up on video sharing websites in March 2007.

A parody version of "Little Superstar" starring Fred Armisen as The Aboriginal Boy and Bill Hader as Rajinikanth aired on Saturday Night Live on April 21, 2007.

A parody version of "Little Superstar" was made by Nobody's Watching

An early draft of the hit Rihanna song Umbrella referenced "Little Superstar", but was eventually taken out.
