This is a list of crime bosses who have been notably convicted in the 21st century.
2000s
- Israel — Mob boss, convicted of drug trafficking and murder.[1]
- United States — Boss of the Wo Hop To Hong Kong triad syndicate, sentenced to about 15 years in 2002 for murder-for-hire among other convictions.[2]
- United States — Underboss of the Bonanno American mafia syndicate, arrested and convicted in 2003 of murder.[3]
- United States — Boss of the Gambino American mafia syndicate, sentenced to 25 years for muder plot in 2005.[4]
- Japan — Yakuza boss, the head of the Yamaguchi-gumi, the largest yakuza syndicate, convicted of illegal gun possession in 2005 and sentenced to about 6 years.[5]
- Italy — Boss of the Corleonesi Sicilian mafia syndicate, convicted of murder in 2006.[6]
- Colombia — Leader of the Cali drug cartel, sentenced to 30 years in 2006 for drug trafficking.[7]

- United States — Leader of the Chicago Outfit crime syndicate, once called "Chicago's top mob boss" by federal authorities, sentenced to life in prison in 2009 for murder.[23]
2010s
- Japan — Yakuza boss, the head of the Takumi-gumi and the number-three leader of the Yamaguchi-gumi, the largest yakuza syndicate,[27] arrested in 2010 on suspicion of compensating the relatives of a hitman who had been jailed for murdering a senior member of a rival yakuza syndicate, and sentenced to 10 months in 2011.[28]
