I added glottal stop. What about /ts/? That's a phonemic diff, isn't it? Is sy etc. [ʃ] or [ɕ]? Our articles contradict each other. I deleted the allophones of /e/, as the same words were used for both. What about /i/, what determines which allophones occur where? We should also spell this out for /a/. I deleted the "diphthongs", since many of them were just semivowels, and listed in two places. kwami (talk) 20:24, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- Once again, we have [wV] under both consonant and diphthong. We need to choose one or the other. We also have [oj] and [oi] for the same sequence: again, we need to choose. We're also confusing [aj ai ei] and [ew eu iu]. Please make a defensible choice, or I will start deleting again. kwami (talk) 09:48, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
Notes: IV /d/ is [r] cept in loans.
/o, e/ vary with /u, i/ in many word, cept in loans.
6 'diphthongs' not distinguished from VC sequences: iwan, iwi. They are /iw, uj, ej, oj, aj, aw/.
/ts/ not distinct from [tS]?
Stressed non-final Vs are long.

magboo
[edit]Could s.o. check magboo? Seems a little dubious. — kwami (talk) 16:14, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
And Sagñay, Camarines Sur. I could have easily gotten the vowels wrong. — kwami (talk) 08:04, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
Aspiration
[edit]If /p, t, k/ are unaspirated, why are the examples cape and taping given here?
Marginal phonemes
[edit]I think this page needs a massive revamp. Like French, Tagalog also has this so-called "non-native phonemes" and dipthongs. All other pages have them. Raku Hachijo (talk) 13:14, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
