Watling Street to Chester

The kink in the red line route shown here as the road leaves Watling Street towards Chester does not seem to be correct. At the camp at modern day Water Eaton the OS map shows the roman road cutting directly across country to modern day Newport in a straight line, to join the route of the A41 there. The red line on the map seems to follow the A5/A41 to Newport instead. I *think* this is wrong but is anyone out there confident enough to alter our map to thus match the OS map?
