Just a note that the date on which this picture was featured on the main page is not only 2005-06-19, but also today, 2007-04-21. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 04:03, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So it was featured before? Jmlk17 09:01, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Does that happen alot? Jmlk17 09:02, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's not unique to this photo, but it's not frequent either. There are a number of pictures which show up as POTDs every year and a half or two years or so -- so long as there's a good period of time between the two dates. I've seen a few photos that have been POTD three times. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 17:14, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well I'll be. Learn something new everyday! Jmlk17 06:56, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
We do this because we don't consistently promote 7+ featured pictures a week. Right now there's a buffer period between the current POTD and the most recently promoted FP, but if we just ran 7 new ones per week, eventually we'd use up this buffer. Thus, right now we have a schedule of 6 new ones and 1 rerun. When the buffer shrinks more significantly, we'll have more reruns showing up. howcheng {chat} 00:26, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PD template

[edit]

Why isn't the PD template being included from commons? heqs 09:45, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think this copy is labeled as being temporary. Maybe there is not a need to copy all the details from Commons, particularly for PD. (SEWilco 15:23, 21 April 2007 (UTC))[reply]
