English: A VERY RARE GOLD-HILTED OFFICER'S SWORD COMMEMORATING THE MARRIAGE OF KING ZOG I OF ALBANIA

ITALIAN GOLD MARKS FOR 18 CARAT GOLD, DATED 1938 With blackened slender single-edged pipe-back blade decorated in gold along each side at the forte with the helmet of the Albanian hero Skanderbeg, a martial trophy and foliage, one side inscribed in gold 'Besnikë Deri Në Dekë Prisit Të Vet Të Mathi', and on the other 'Oficerët Shqipatrë - 27. Prill 1938' in Albanian, half-basket guard finely cast and pierced with branches of oak centred on the coat-of-arms of Albania bearing the silver cypher of King Zog I and surmounted by the Skanderbeg helmet, back-piece cast with laurel and a decorative column, threaded lion-head pommel, and meerschum grip bound with twisted gold wire 85 cm. blade Footnotes
