Western Digital announced late last week that its WDAB130 and WDAH260, a pair of AT compatible, 2.5-inch, intelligent disk drives. The WDAB130 and WDAH260 are the industry's first 30 and 60 megabyte 2.5-inch disk drives. The WDAB130 features a formatted capacity of 31.5 megabytes with a 19ms average seek time. The WDAH260 features a formatted capacity of 62.9 megabytes with a 19ms average seek time. Evaluation units of both drives will be available in the fourth quarter, 1990, with volume production slated in the first quarter, 1991. Prices for evaluation units are $325 for the WDAB130 and $495 for the WDAH260.
