Deutsch: Wappen der Welfen; Altbayern um 1200 (Schildrand wohl erst Ende 13. Jh.); Sandstein; aus Kloster Steingaden; neben Urkundensiegeln ist das Welfenwappen aus Steingaden das frühste heraldische Denkmal in Deutschland; es stammt vermutlich vom 1525 zerstörten Hochgrab für Welf VI. und Welf VII.
