Summary

Description
English: The Manor House - Hammoon One of the most picturesque houses in Dorset, it dates from the beginning of the C16, and its unusual two storey porch is of this period. It was later extended to the east in 1560, and added to again in the C17, and C19. The Norman family de Mohun owned the manor, part of the spoils of war after the Battle of Hastings. The former settlement of Ham was then subsequently renamed Ham Mohun, that became over the centuries anglicised to Hammoon. The house is Grade II* Listed.
