Summary

[edit]

Silver Prolific Wikipedia Award. Designed by WikipedianProlific. This award was designed to be given for all manner of achievements in the wikipedia project. Acknowledeging achievement is an important part of any project that involves large numbers of people. Please use this award sparingly, and when you give it, mean it. Simply catching a vandal or reverting some errors doesn't warrant a bronze award. A bronze award should be given for actions such as:

  • Repeatedly keeping a cool head and a calm tone in a heated debate
  • Mediating a dispute well many many times
  • Consistently abiding by the etiquette and rules of the project
  • Showing respect and consideration for all manner and diversity of wikipedians repeatedly

It should be noted that this award should not be used for people who simply revert vandals many many times. This is their job in the project. It is no more or less important than any of us. It is on this principle that wikipedia exists - all wikipedians are equal in value to the project whatever their user status. For example I draw diagrams, this is my part of the project, should I merit a special award simply for being born with the ability to draw? of course not. In much the same way as reverting a vandal is not in itself worth of an award, it is simply one of the many tasks that need to be done in the project. Please please use my award sparsely. And to reiterate, when you give it - mean it.
