Non-free use media rationale - non-free logo for Sudbury Valley Trustees
[edit]- Description: This is a logo for Sudbury Valley Trustees.
- Source: The logo may be obtained from Sudbury Valley Trustees.
- Article: Allen Morgan.
- Portion used: The entire logo is used to convey the meaning intended and avoid tarnishing or misrepresenting the intended image.
- Resolution: The logo is a size and resolution sufficient to maintain the quality intended by the company or organization, without being unnecessarily high resolution.
- Purpose of use: Allen Morgan was the key founder and first Executive Director of Sudbury Valley Trustees. It was through Morgan's vision and persistence that Sudbury Valley Trustees came into being, flourished, and became the open space land trust that it is today in 2008. Morgan founded "The Wren," the Sudbury Valley Trustees Newsletter. The Marsh Wren logo was created under Morgan's direction and is closely associated with him. The formation of Sudbury Valley Trustees is perhaps the salutary event in Morgan's life for which he will be most remembered. Using the logo at the portion of his article discussing the formation of Sudbury Valley Trustees calls attention to his close association with Sudbury Valley Trustees and his personal involvement in the creation of the logo.
- Replaceability: Because it is a logo there is almost certainly no free equivalent. Any substitute that is not a derivative work would fail to convey the meaning intended, would tarnish or misrepresent its image, and would fail its purpose of identification and commentary.
- Other information: Use of the logo in the article complies with Wikipedia non-free content policy, logo guidelines and fair use under United States copyright law as described above.
