Summary

Description
English: Thomas Hughes (1818-1876), an English Christian minister and abolitionist, moved to Dresden, Ontario, in 1859 at the request of Black leaders and the Colonial Church & School Society to establish a mission school and Episcopal mission church (now Christ Church Anglican) within the new Diocese of Huron. Rev. Hughes was a great friend of Josiah Henson.
