Distribution de la Légion d’honneur au camp de Boulogne, le 16 août 1804 Charles Étienne Pierre Motte (1785-1836), d’après Victor-Jean Adam (1801-1866). Au milieu de 50 000 militaires, dont 2000 décorés, Napoléon se tient sur l’estrade devant le trône de Dagobert et les armures mythiques de du Guesclin et Bayard. Une colonne commémorative est érigée sur les lieux dans le vallon de Terlincthun, dont le maréchal Soult pose la première pierre le 9 novembre 1804.
