English: Various machine-struck coins issued by the French government. 💴
(1) A brass 2 Sapèque/2 Văn (1/500 piastre) coin from 1879 with the inscription “當二 - 大法國之安南“ (Ðáng Nhị - Đại Pháp Quốc chi An Nam) on one side and “Cochinchine Française” on the other side. The “A” is the mint mark of the Paris Mint. 🥖
(2) A brass 2 Sapèque/2 Văn (1/500 piastre) coin identical to the above coin also bearing “當二 - 大法國之安南“ (Ðáng Nhị - Đại Pháp Quốc chi An Nam) but containing the inscription “Indo-Chine Française” indicating that it was minted for the Indochinese Federation rather than for French Cochin-China.
(3) A 1 Sapèque/ 1 Văn (1/600 piastre) coin made from zinc, it's inscription reads “六百分之一 - 通寶“ (Lục Bách Phân chi Nhất - Thông Bảo) on one side and “Protectorat du Tonkin” on the other indicating that this coin was only meant to circulate in Northern-Vietnam, this coin was only cast in 1905.
(4) A Khải Định Thông Bảo (啓定通寶) coin, these coins were issued in both cast and machine-struck variants.
