Summary

Description
English: Fragment of a tabernacle tower, originally in the Croziers Church (Kruisherenkerk) in Maastricht, the Netherlands, now part of the LGOG collection in Bonnefantenmuseum (external depot). The tabernacle tower was ordered in 1561 by the Maastricht Croziers (or Crutched Friars) from the Liège sculptor Guillaume de Jockeu. The monumental tabernacle must have been destroyed at some point, perhaps after the dissolution of the monastery in 1796 (during the French occupation). Some fragments were burried underneath the church floor where they were discovered in 1914. Here two small fragments of a niche that contained an angel (part of the wings still visible) of which there were originally two, placed between the three doors of the tabernacle.
