Director Ken Loach's latest film "I, Daniel Blake" was made in the North East of England and some of it was filmed in our office building. Tonight we went to the Newcastle premiere and Q&A with the director , writer and members of the cast. From left to right: Tony Dowling (Chair: North East People's Assembly) Hayley Squires ( "Katie") Dave Johns ("Dan") Ken Loach ( Director) and Paul Laverty (Writer).
The film itself is amazing. Tragic, brave and funny, But mostly it made me angry. And as Hayley Squires said during the post-film discussion - anger can be either destructive or motivating.
