English: The result of the 1918 General Election for the County of London, for Middlesex, and the then-metropolitan seats of Surrey, Kent and Essex (that is, those parts closest to London all later absorbed into Greater London in 1965). The outer part of the southwest Middlesex seat, named Spelthorne, here contested for the first time is in today's Surrey. The northern inward projection of Barnet, Hertfordshire is excluded from the County of London then and it majority-voted Conservative in 1918 as the neighbouring seats did. As well as today's London Borough of Barnet (NNW) the boundaries of the post-1965 county extend more in all easterly directions and a little to south-southwest, including Sutton and Cheam.
