DescriptionFrank Stella BMW M1 ProCar Art Car.fL (1979).jpg
English: 1979 BMW M1 Pro Car, an unofficial member of BMW's Art Car series. This one was commissioned by Stella's friend, racer Peter Gregg, and carries a paintjob intended to commemorate Ronnie Peterson, another racer friend of Stella's who had died after a crash at Monza in 1978. Belonged to the Guggenheim gallery for some time, but was sold to BMW Southampton owner Jonathan Sobel who has been displaying the car at their Southampton show room since 2012.
