DescriptionFlag of Oregon proposal (Karen L. Azinger).svg
English: A proposed flag for Oregon, designed by Karen L. Azinger. One of the ten finalists in the 2008 contest (in which it was labelled "Flag I") held by The Oregonian newspaper to try and create a new flag for the state. The stylised tree is a Douglas fir, the official state tree of Oregon. The green colour of the tree also symbolises the state's forests and other natural vegetation in general. Blue represents western Oregon's Pacific coastline, white stands for the state's snow-capped mountains, and gold symbolises the grassy plains of eastern Oregon.
