English: Osun Sacred Grove forest Osogbo Is known for its wield nature and various kinds of animals like monkey, ostriches and bat can be found in this groove with diverse other creatures like the Iwin(the vampires) that sucks and prey on human for its living. The sacred forest has different kinds of indigenous youruba shrine inside of it with their certain significance attached to its nature.
The Osun sacred groove is well known in the Western part of Nigeria in which the people of Osun/OsogbOsun believe that is the home of their ancestral. The Forest is a sign of authority in the Old Yoruba Empire which were ruled by their traditional ruler prior to the colonial era and serves as a Sacrifice Entity for carrying all spiritual matters of the kingdom. The First king of Osogbo Oba Adenle who disseminated a vibrant character among the people of Osun Osogbo also comtributed to the attainment of the Sacred Osun Groove. |
