For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Rostock, Forschungsprojekt "Künstliches Herz"
ADN-ZB Sindermann 8.12.88 Rostock: Forschungsprojekt "Künstliches Herz" Die Klinik für Innere Medizin (KIM) der Wilhelm-Pieck-Universität konnte mit einer Forschungsgruppe unter der Leitung von OMR Prof. Dr. sc. med. Dr. h.c.mult. Horst Klinkmann (Direktor der KIM, Beauftragter der Hauptforschungsrichtung "Künstlicher Organersatz und Biomaterialien") bei den medizinischen und technischen Arbeiten für die Entwicklung eines künstlichen Herzens auf internationale Ergebnisse aufbauen. Nach langjährigen Forschungen und Entwicklungen in interdisziplinärer Zusammenarbeit mit Forschungsinstituten, Hochschulen und Industriebetrieben der DDR und in RGW-Kooperation mit Kustherzzentren in der UdSSR und der CSSR sowie auf der Basis eines Regierungsabkommens mit Japan (Nationalinstitut für kardiovaskuläre Forschung Hiroshima) steht an der KIM ein humanadaptiertes Kunstherz zur Verfügung, das zur Überbrückung bis zur Herztransplantation eingesetzt werden kann. Es kann sich in Größe, Gewicht und Leistung mit den Kunstherzen der Welt messen. Unser Foto zeigt ein Rostocker künstliches Herz mit rechter und linker Herzkammer und den dazugehörigen Prothesen. |
