Summary

Description
English: A type of geomembrane called a bituminous geomembrane is shown during installation on the base and side walls of a tailings storage facility at a mine site. The bituminous geomembrane serves as both a liquid barrier for the environment and to enhance the stability of the facility. Tailings are deposited into the facility in the form of a slurry.
