Source (WP:NFCC#4) | This is a free available PDF excerpt from the Deuteronomy fascicle of the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia. The Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft provides this via the scholarly-bibles webpage: http://www.scholarly-bibles.com/products/Original-Texts/Old-Testament/Hebrew/Biblia-Hebraica-Quinta-BHQ.html |
Use in article (WP:NFCC#7) | Biblia Hebraica Quinta |
Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) | In order to distinguish the layout, the fonts, the arrangement of the fifth instalment of Biblia Hebraica. The differences between the different editions of the Biblia Hebraica series which are done by Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft solely exist within matters of layout, typesetting, fonts, notation, different implementation of the apparatus, so in terms of WP:NFCC#8 seeing one sample page increases the readers understanding for the motivation and need for new editions. To put this in perspective: if you look at the BHQ page, there's discussion about a socalled "Masorah Magna", marginal notes written by the masoretes on top of the pages of the Codex Leningradenis which is the "Vorlage" of this series. In all four previous instalments of Biblia Hebraica those notes are not implemented, so this is unique to the BHQ. By implementing this particular file you can clearly see the Masora Magna (which is an essential part of the discussion in the article - please read the thing before blatantly deleting this file again) between the main text and the apparatus at the bottom. The other two editions of Biblia Hebraica consistently have the info box and the sample page on their Wikipedia pages, so a direct comparison can easily be made. |
