Summary

Description
English: The Arlington Amphitheater encompasses the original Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The remains of an unidentified WW I American soldier was entombed on Armistice Day, November 11, 1921, later covered in 1931 by a more elaborate marble sarcophagus. The stamp was issued on November 11, 1922, the first anniversary of entombment.
