Identification on accompanying label (typewritten): Heroic Art for West Point: - One of the four pieces of marble statuary being finished by the WPA Federal Art Project for the United States Military Academy at West Point. They will adorn the cadet mess hall, Washington Hall, which already houses a large mural painting and a 500-foot square stained glass window produced by the WPA Federal Art Project. Other military organizations in the New York are [sic] have received hundreds of allocations from the Art Project.
