Object history
Deutsch: Das Wappenmotiv erinnert an die zwischen 903 und 905 in Raffelstetten ("Raffoltestetun") unter Vorsitz des bayerischen Markgrafen Aribo von geistlichen und weltlichen Würdenträgern festgelegte Zollordnung, die den gesamten frühmittelalterlichen Donauhandel des südöstlichen Frankenreichs zur Zeit König Ludwigs IV. regelte, und unterstreicht andererseits die Stellung Raffelstettens als Schiffslände des Stiftes St. Florian und wichtiger Salzumschlagplatz von etwa 1400 bis 1600. Die Geldstücke zeigen Vorder- und Rückseite des in Köln geprägten Silberdenars Ludwigs des Kindes: Avers: + LVDOVVCVS REX, im Perlenkreis Kreuz mit Kugeln in dessen Winkeln, Revers: S COLONIA A[grippina] in drei Zeilen.
