Summary

Description

Originally, in 1964, the Cyclone was an option on the Comet. In 1968, the Comet name was dropped and the Cyclone was Mercurys performance car. (only available in 2 door) and shared its chassis with the Ford Fairlane and Torino.

In 1969 the Cobra Jet was introduced, 335hp 428 CJ V8 with or without Ram Air, blacked-out grille, dual exhausts, engine dress-up kit, hood stripes; and a competition handling package. Also available was the limited edition Cyclone Spoiler II, 500 were made for NASCAR, the street version got the 351 Wndsor and the race versions had the Boss 429.
