Chevrolet introduced a new body in 1953, although still on the same frame and mechanicals of the 49-52 cars. For 1949-52, the Special was the base model, Deluxe the mid spec, and the Bel Air, introduced in 1950, and only available in 2 door coupe, was the top of the line. For 1953, base model was the 150, mid spec the 210 and top still the Bel Air, now available in all body styles. 2 and 4 door sedans were available, convertible and the 2 door Sports Coupe. The 1953 grilles teeth were more prominent and the parkers back to round, the windscreen was now one piece. Chevrolet sedans were also produced in Australia by General Motors using modified American bodies from 1926-68.
